[LIVE] No sound when playing .ISO files, other formats are ok.
#1
Hi all

A new one from me, i'm sure it's a problem already but i have only found one other post about it and the guy got no replies, here goes:

I have recently bought:
Acer Aspire Revo 3600
Intel Atom 230 Processor
2 GIG RAM
nVidia ION Integrated video card

I have installed this version of XBMC Live to my Revo hard drive: http://sourceforge.net/projects/xbmc/files/ XBMC 9.11 R26018 Dec 24th 2009

I installed this by creating a boot CD then installing to the HDD.

When i play my .ISO DVD files i recieve the error: An incompatible audio signal has been received. Check the output device settings.

All other file formats play ok, .mp3 / .avi etc.

My output settings are set to HDMI.

Do i need to provide any more information?

Thanks

Audio settings are:

Audio Output - Digital
AC3 and DTS On
Output device - HDMI
Pass through device HDMI
Downmix - On

Are you running this through a receiver? I'd try turning Downmix off if you are just going to have the receiver do the decoding.

I turned off downmising, still no sound when playing .ISO files, XBMC still shows the same error message.

I am using my Sharp Aquos TV for the sound right now as i can't yet afford a home theatre amp.

As before, all other files work ok, it's just .ISO file sound thats a problem.

Then disable digital output. That setting is badly named.

Yes, working now, i turned off Digital Output and put it back on the old analog.

£150 spent so far and i can only have analog, hilarious.

it's still transmitted as digital.. as i said the setting is badly named. the difference is that it now doesn't try to transmit encoded multichannel audio to your tv, which doesn't support that.
