Please help a newbie out!

Hello all,
Please I need some help. I'm new to the whole thing :o
I have fair knowledges about networking and such but I'm stuck.
I d/led the software, added movies and music. I can watch them on the computer but when I try to stream them to my TV it is not working. Can you please point me out to a walk-through for dummies or try to help me?
I'm using Windows XP Home, I've allowed XBMC under Windows Media Network Sharing Configuration options.
I have a linksys router which is wired to the Oppo. Right now I'm trying to stream via my Oppo 83 BD player as my TV (Pioneer Kuro KRP 600M is not DLNA capable, I think).
Is there another way to stream to my TV or only my BD player can do that?
The Oppo finds the network XBMC and sees the folders but when I open them it freezes at the last folder where the movies are in.
I'm desperate...

What do you mean? Isn't it a software to stream what's on my PC to my TV? I'm confused...

It's mainly used when your PC is plugged into your TV.

So seriously, ethernet won't do the trick? So do I need a DVI cable? The problem is my PC is not in the TV room.
I swear I'm not pulling anyone's leg, I'm just trying to figure out how this works :/

Maybe best you give a detailed description of your setup.

99.99% of people here have a DEDICATED PC who's only job (besides some server stuff) is to run XBMC. Get it?

Ok, but what difference does it make if you use a dedicated PC or not?
I'm JUST trying to understand how all this works. So basically I need my PC to be hooked up to the TV via DVI?
Like I said, I'm able to use the software on my PC with no problems, now I'm just trying to figure out how to be able to watch it on my TV.

Look, it's simple. XBMC has nothing to do with streaming. It only outputs to standard video, be it DVI. HDMI, VGA. It's a program that runs on local display, nothing less, nothing more.
