after fresh installation xbmc-live on minimal ubuntu 9.10 on Acer Aspire Revo 3610 everything was fine.
When i put a SD card into card reader it was succesfully mapped and ready to viewing pictures or videos.
After few days, when i've configured xbox dongle and other stuff, this functionality has gone away.
Now, when i put card into reader nothing happens.

Make a clean install of xbmcLive 10. That is the quickest solution. USB mounting was pretty fragile in 9.11.

I had 9.11 and all was working fine. Now I updated from 9.11 to 10.0, all is still working only problem with usd storage. This storage I can see, I can mount, only isn't mounted automaticaly after insertion. I have a DBUS error - see my other post :

I also tryied clean install of 10.0, but with this I have a huge problems with suspend mode ( no wake up or remote not working after wake up etc .. )

Yes, I understand the problem and it has been discussed over and over. policykit / hal / ect was in flux in karmic and can be a challange to fix it in a an upgraded 9.11.

Since you have a permission error I suppose you have the necessary components and you just have to set up permission. Create a custom .plka to cover the permissions you see in the log. If you are lucky it will work after that.
If you can't handle that you are out of luck unless someone writes a migration guide and so far nobody seem to be too interested in doing that. (not with any quality anyway).

If you are willing to keep the devices in when booting you can just mount them in fstab or disable nodiskmount in grub.

At this moment don't exist version of xbmc live dharma which is working. I tryed new instal - with this - usb working ok, but suspend mode - specialy wakeup from suspend not working.
When I tryed upgrade from 9.11 to dharma - suspend mode is working, but usb device missing.
