I know that this is a newbie question, but since I don't know, I ask..

How does one implement the new modules? Do I need to import it into the python program the same way that xbmc, xbmcgui, xbmcaddon and xbmcplugin modules?

Exactly the same, yes. If you need to use a python module in your script that isn't provided with XBMC then let us know and we'll do up one for you (or let you know how you can do it!)
