Hello all,
I have an ION platform and noticed that the system was staying warm (~55C) when idle but with xbmc running (not playing any movie). I like to keep xbmc running on the htpc 24/7
Turns out that even with xbmc not playing any movie etc. the gpu load is at 40%, which is what is actually generating the heat. Without xbmc gpu load goes to 0% and idle temperature to 46C.
I realise this may be an architectural "cost" but someone with more insight may be able to tell me why is is so and if it can be avoided now or in the future.
Thanks!
