Internal Blu-Ray Drive in External DVD Burner Enclosure???
#1
I am trying to find a way to save money. I want an external blu-ray drive, I just dont wanna pay the high cost. So I was wondering if I have a couple of external dvd burners could I just buy internal blu-ray drives and put them in the enclosures? I have swapped out hard drives before but I am not sure if there is a difference with the blu-ray drives.

All Blu-ray drives are SATA connections so if the DVD external cases are SATA there would be no problems (older ones are almost all PATA). Or a SATA-USB adapter like this would work as well.

Let me know if you find a decent external case for you drive. I have bought two that didn't work, so I would love to find one that did.

(I didn't work for all drives, not just my Blu Ray drive. Finding decent 5inch external enclosures are hard).

I have a couple external dvd burners, and I am planning on using e case from one of them, if I can find enough evidence that it should work.
