noob here. Is there any config variable that can be set to tell XBMC to export <path> and <filenamepath> in separate movie.nfo file export? I'd prefer not to mess with the source and DVDpedia wont read the single file export which contains these tags.

Nope. See VideoInfoTag::Save() if you want to change the behaviour.
