hi all, i'm just wondering if i am fine using analogue sound output. I'm running the sound and vid over hdmi to my denon amp. When i try any of the hdmi settings on xbmc, i get 'failed to initialize audio device'. It seems to be working fine on analalogue, ie i'm getting proper surround sound, i just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing out on any better quality etc.

i'm using an acer revo 3610 btw.

No you're not. In analogue mode xbmc decodes the audio and sends it as multichannel audio. It doesn't try to passthrough. It makes no difference to sound quality.
