Hi

I'm trying to follow the guide here to lucid from mini iso and then install xbmc.

However, I'm falling at pretty much the first hurdle. I'm installing from a USB drive, and all goes ok. But when the Revo reboots I just get a blinking cursor after the post screen.

Anybody have any ideas?

If I install from xbmcfreak disc or xbmc live it's fine.

The problem is with the Lucid installer. It writes the Grub2 MBR to the USB instead of the HDD, so you need to go into recovery and rewrite the MBR to the HDD and it should boot normally.

Thanks for the info... but I'm a total novice when it comes to linux... could you give me any pointers on how to do that?

sorted, during the install I got it to put grub on /dev/sdb
