[LINUX] [VDR] VDR Server and XBMC - Recording
#1
I'm currently running VDR with the StreamDev plugin with XBMC PVR-Testing branch (r30871) using a Hauppauge WinTV USB 2.0 DVB-T Stick and it all works great.

What I want to do is make a seperate VDR server because I have a PCI DVB-T tuner that I want to make use of for a dual-tuner setup (XBMC system is an Asus EeeBox EB1501).

What I want to know is how XBMC and VDR handle recording.

If I schedule a recording on the XBMC system will the scheduled recording still go ahead if the XBMC system is turned off? (Is it XBMC that starts the recording or is it the VDR server?)

I ask this because a while back whilst I was recording something XBMC crashed so I restarted XBMC (not the system) and the recording had stopped when XBMC stopped and started again when XBMC was restarted. Where the videos are recorded there was 00001.ts and 00002.ts instead of just a single file (I also realise there's a 2GB file limit and that wasn't what was happening), there was a gap of a few seconds of missing footage between the two files where XBMC was restarted.
