i have installed this on ubuntu last night without any issue but this morning i tired to install this on a new HD that i bought and im keep getting this error. E: coudn't find package xbmc

i have did some reading and looks like you only get this error if you are running 64bit linux os but im using i386 ubuntu 32bit.

I'm in the same boat. I'm actually VNCed into this system, my server (Ubuntu 10.04 32 Bit), from my office PC (Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit). Now I've already got XBMC in my office but I need to put it on my server now that I can utilize VDPAU there. Anyway I did a cross verify of the software sources and noted they're the same. Then I typed XBMC into the search on Synaptic Package Manager. The server PC can only see the keys but my office could see a whole lot more among items I do and don't have installed. So to see if this was a repository issue I closed SPM and opened a terminal and entered 'sudo apt-get update'. Re-entered SPM and searched XBMC and now only installed items show up. So pretty much it's not available at the moment. Better luck tomorrow?
