harryzimm Wrote:Hi,

I got the lenovo originally for my bedroom htpc, unfortunately it does not have a backlight which means its nearly impossible to use in dark or dim conditions. I then opted for a rii mini keyboard and haven't looked back since. Dont get me wrong, the lenovo is a decent piece of kit for the price but if you are intending to use in a darkened room you might want to look elsewhere.

cheers
Yup I would opt for this one

Hey cold_realms,

I am looking into the Q150 and I thought I saw on Lenovos web that the nic is 10/100/1000...is this correct? because on Newegg it only shows 100MB under the specs..

I have used the Acer Revo but I really need the Optical for my other room, so that is where this Q150 looks great!

Thanks!

Does this thing have to stick out of the keyboard ?
Looks like it would break easy.

I have two of it and I cannot recommend them.

Though the design is nice and the case is well processed but ...
The broadcasting achievement is quite low. When i sit on my couch which is approx 2.5 meters away from my htpc the radiocommunication very often breaks down. The Touchpad sometimes acts realy slow ... keys do not react ... ect. IMHO the device is probably suitable for presentation purposes but not for controling a htpc comfortably. Now I have bought a dinovo mini which i will test later.

Thanks for this valued user experience.
Do you have to have that thing sticking out for it to work ?

HAHA, thats the USB receiver, you take it out of the keyboard and plug it into your computer.

Seems like an awkward way to have to hold it in order to be able to use the mousepad

I purchased the logitech mini... returning it. The mouse isnt as easy to use as I thought. I also dont like that you cant use the media keys to control anything in win7. Sort of a bummer, especially if someone else uses the remote. Does the Lenovo have media keys that actually work in win7?

I can't agree with your conclusion. I also have one device and it works quite well from a distance of about 4m. I only get problems when there are other 2.4Ghz transmitters in close proximity, i.e. when I have my laptop on my lap with active WLAN. This might also be the cause for your broadcasting problems.

Do you have i.e. a WLAN router in close range of your HTPC? If this is the case you will get problems with most wireless keyboards.

I recently bought one of these. It's a real joy to use. I had a remote that came with my Hauppauge HVR-1600 working perfectly with XBMC, but the remote was just awkward to use. This is truly a delight. I often find myself alt-tabbing to configure other services on my HTPC, and it's just nice to have something so small that works so well. I got mine for about $45. The range on it is perfect. It's very responsive. The typing gets a little getting used to, and I disabled mice input on XBMC because I would be watching a movie, bump the remote/keyboard and it would bring up the OSD. Not a huge deal, but annoying when you're really into a movie.

One of the best solutions I've used for a remote. It takes a little getting used to, but it's worth it.
