ISO files

Does XBMC support ISO files? It's not playing them on my setup. (Running the DSPlayer release, r31520.)

Yes, although don't know if DSPlayer branch does.

Can only say that official builds do.

Sad

Can anyone else running the DSPlayer version confirm that ISO files are indeed not supported?

Alternatively provide a debug log of you trying to play an ISO - it will show what is failing.

The DSPlayer branch defaults to playing them from DVDPlayer, however 31520 has an issue with the trunk (at the time) and ISO files don't seem to work correctly for me with it.

They play fine using one of the Dharma builds. 31520 of DSPlayer has some major issues and is almost worthless IMO.

Thanks for the feedback relayer35. So what is one supposed to do if they want to install a stable release that supports acceleration?

Install one of the latest official xbmc nightlies - http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/win32/

I thought about doing that. Is there a way to retain all my settings and library as I migrate to one of those builds? Is it best to uninstall the current version I'm using or can I just install on top of what's already there?

Thanks again.

Just install on top - and you should be fine. Just make a copy of your xbmc folder just in case.

I agree with prae5. Just enable DXVA2 on one of the Dharma releases. It has been sufficient for 90% of my needs. The only I can do with DSPlayer that I can't do with the regular Dharma release is playback my MTS files from my Sony video camera that is 1080i/60fps. DSPlayer will play them back fine if I configure it to use the Microsoft codec, but otherwise they are a no go in XBMC. I've had to set up an external player to play those back with the Dharma release (which is another headache altogether!)

Ok, just installed the latest Dharma build (xbmc-r32808-Dharma.exe) and it's still not playing the ISO file in question. I even did an uninstall/reboot/reinstall cycle with the same result. Here's the debug log:

Is this a real DVD ISO with VIDEO_TS folder and associated bits ?

This is a single Bluray ISO file residing on my NAS. If I mount the image using Daemon tools, I can see all the folders within it.

That does not answer my question about what is inside the ISO.
