XBMC packages not found
#1
Hi guys,

I just discovered XBMC a few days ago and I wanted to install it at home, I'm running on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic i686. My problem is neither Synaptic nor apt-get find xbmc or xbmc-standalone packages.

I followed the instructions in the wiki adding the repositories to the third-party list and imported the key from a text file in my /home:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

Actually I've even changed the repositories to the unstable ones (as stable wasn't suitable for karmic, I read):

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc-svn/ppa/ubuntu karmic main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc-svn/ppa/ubuntu karmic main

I also see 3 keys added (this is what I see in the Autentication tab):

Launchpad PPA for XBMC for Linux
Launchpad PPA named jaunty-ppa for XBMC for Linux
Launchpad PPA for XBMC SVN BUILDING

are they in conflict? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I got impatient waiting for the "team-xbmc" PPA to get rebuilt. So I went HERE and grabbed the "Camelot" code and built it from source. Takes FOREVER but it worked and my media center system is back online. You can actually copy and paste the terminal commands from the Ubuntu and Linux README files, so it's pretty easy.

Otherwise grab "Dharma" from the "team-xbmc-svn" PPA, which installed from Synaptic for me just fine, but none of the old plugins work with it which is why I uninstalled it and built XBMC from source.
