Just now I killall XBMC because frozen. Then relaunched XBMC and played the same 1080p video. Now it's playing smoothly. Idle is 0%.

Nope. It's random. No specific pattern. But I'll keep trying. Getting tired of rebooting ATV though. Smile

OK. I think I found the pattern.

If launch XBMC, play any .avi video, then play 1080p mkv. AppleTV will play the 1080p video and not freeze.

If launch XBMC, immediately play 1080p mkv. AppleTV will freeze.

Does this pattern make any sense? Smile

Possible, during the 1st play, there are several things occuring that don't happen on 2nd play. I'd like XBMC.log and dmesg from both situations please.

Here you go.

Scenario 1: Play avi 1st time then play mkv. ATV plays ok.

dmesg: http://pastebin.com/HjxRr3Se

xbmc.log: http://pastebin.com/KEvBVFZu

Scenario 2: Play mkv 1st time. ATV freeze.

dmesg: http://pastebin.com/EXcvMJmC

xbmc.log: http://pastebin.com/FjJfHsPa

Actually, wanted to point out also that if play normal non-HD .mp4 immediately upon launching xbmc, ATV will also freeze. So far, pattern is must play .avi file during first playback. After that, other video formats will play ok.
