Are there any scripts designed for testing the Addon system? As I'm making changes it would really help to make sure everything still works.

i don't think there are any of those around. we have long wanted such tests (unit and regression tests).

I'm making changes to the Addon system and, if there are any scripts (that is, Python addons) that are designed to make sure everything works as expected (that is, they exercise each of the API functions to make sure they behave the way they're supposed to), I could use them to make sure my changes haven't broken anything.

So my question is, do such Python scripts exist?

No such formal testing scripts exist. They would be most useful!
