I installed XBMC Live to the disc, everything is working flawlessly except non HD playback.

I at first thought it's only DVD playback broken, but since all my new stuff is HD content, mostly mkv, only after a while I found out, that it's all non HD content that is broken.

I can see only upper left corner of the original screen, colors are bad and there are 2 or 3 images at different sizes put on the other.

I'm using latest Nvidia drivers with VDPAU, my Samsung LCD Full HD TV is connected via DVI-to-HDMI cable.

Any help is welcome

Ok, here it is:

1. version of XBMC: XBMC 9.11 r26018 (compiled: Aug 19th 2010)
2. XBMC Live (Ubuntu Karmic)
3. Linux isildur 2.6.31-16-generic #53-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 8 04:01:29 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
4. install method, from 9.11 XBMC live CD, install to disc, then updated to latest PPA version, currently 1:9.11-karmic3
5. R26018
6. while watching non HD content (DVD's, series, movies), image is broken, colors are modified, only upper left part of a screen is visible, and multiple layers (ghosts) of different sizes (sshots attached). problem appears when rendering set to autodetect or VDPAU, while set to software, picture is rendered as it should.

both images are almost from same scene, 1st (3189) is broken one, rendering set to auto-detect. 2nd (3190) with rendering set to software.
