are b-frames supported in mpeg4 files with the current version of xbmc or do i have to disable them during encodes?

i know that gmc & qpel are not supported.  can somebody explain why since i noticed that they were in the xbmp?

if ffmpeg (link) support then mplayer (link) support them and if mplayer then xbmc (can) support them, simple huh?
