I just installed XMBCbuntu (30 minutes ago) using this guide http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=XBMCbuntu (using 10.10 Maverick) and the latest fglrx package. I'm using a Radeon R6XX and having audio over HDMI. Working like a charm.
