Hello,

I am trying to setup my HTPC and I need a TOuchscreen remote.
I am willing prepared and able to write such a thing myself, and I will
do it.

Now I have several options, I could just use the JSON interface and write a frontent in C or Python to do what I need.

Better would be if that second remote could use skins for XBMC.
But that would only work if it is possible to extract the GUI part from XBMC and attach it to a backend that uses the JSON interface. I am trying to get through the sourcecode of XBMC but it's pretty large so I don't know yet if this is possible.
Can anyone tell me if it is worth the time investigating or if I am wasting my time.
