ATV - How to Upgrade to Dharma?
#1
Hi

I'm relatively new to XBMC and have successfully installed Camelot with launcher version 3.2.5, as I was given a working patchstick by a mate.

My installation of Camelot is stock (no plug-ins or add-ons), and I want to upgrade to Dharma.

The download section of launcher (from the atv interface) only offers Camelot and Boxee, and I've looked all over the SVN Repo Installer inside the programs section of XBMC for this upgrade but can't find anything.

Searching through these threads, the gist I got was I have to aquire the latest SVN from somewhere (packaged as a dmg file) copy and unpack it over to the ATV via SSH.

This is where I'm stuck, as I haven't got a clue where to begin. I'm sure I can handle terminal commands as long as they're easy to follow.

Thanks in advance.

You have to add a source to the download list of the launcher

Read this in the Dharma announcment:

Quote: svn-ppa users may have to remove old xbmc packages before installing Dharma.

I've added this to my Launcher:

Code:
defaults write com.teamxbmc.xbmclauncher XBMCAdditionalDownloadPlistURLs -array-add http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/osx/update_urls.plist

The only option that appears on the screen is r33324 - which looks likes it's the same thing as here:

//http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/osx/

So is it as simple as selecting that item from the Launcher menu? Or do I need to do anything on the ATV first to "remove" or backup anything?

Much thanks!
