ParseIMDBAKATitles returned <details><title></title></details>

That appears to be the problem.

Yeah, I've already looked into this, but I was not able to reproduce this with any of the example movies above.

Nevertheless there was an update today on how the title gets scraped. Could you please update to imdb scraper version 1.0.11 and check if this is still an issue?

Have updated and Titles are now displaying like they should Big Grin
Director, Writer, Genre, Rating, Cast (and maybe more) info is still missing however.

Works fine here. Anyone else with this problem?

I have exact the same problem. Using Dharma Beta1. Also had empty title strings until the recent scraper update, but those fields mentioned by Krazed are still missing...

A fresh debug log would be greatful.

...also page source (ctrl-u in firefox) of an affected imdb page to pastebin would be even more greatful.

okay, there you go...

I scraped the movie "The Hurt Locker" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0887912/).

Since I had "scan library on startup" on, I removed some lines, reporting about not refreshing info for old files...

Debug Log: http://pastebin.com/bWTT3g8p
HTML Source: http://pastebin.com/Fg4KsvqW

Info about the director, writer and cast is missing.

Its just so weird that some people are getting this while others aren't, I am on the same build you guys are and no issues here what so ever, hopefully the debug log will shed some light on this.

jmarshall Wrote:Suggesting some movies that have this feature (and even better, some filenames or URL links to those movies) might be helpful, in case there is someone out there willing to work on the scraper.

This is why we recommend themoviedb - it doesn't change arbitrarily like this.

Jmarshall, first post on this forum, but I have been reading it for a while... I love your software and have been experimenting with it for a couple of months now.

I, like some of the others, have started experiencing this problem and will probably end up moving to TMDB now that I have seen the clean-ness of their interface...

But I would also like to ask if you can update the wiki sections you have on scraper settings... The reason that I chose to use the IMDB scraper for 500+ movies is because your wiki on scrapers recommends to use that because:

Quote:For movies, the IMDb scraper will give the best results for most users. The other available scrapers are for example scrapers for different languages and adult movies, ie. porn.

I am sure that was written long before TMDB existed, but it would help to change that as relative newcomers (for me a few months) are wary of posting any sort of questions on the forums until we have read all available documentation first.

Again, just constructive criticism, LOVE XBMC!

Give me a link to the particular page and I'll update it.

Alternatively, you can update it as well - it's "your" wiki as much as it is "mine" Smile

Cheers,
Jonathan

Sorry I'm a bit lost. What is it you want the source of?

i guess it does that with all movies, only the movies that happen to have an nfo file for them appear to have the movie name (which i guess is being read from the nfo file and not from imdb)

i myself like imdb because of the cast info which is sometimes a nice feature to search by actors
