I was renaming all my movie directories from 'TITLE' to 'TITLE (YEAR)'

But XBMC (or themoviedb) still mess up some movies.

It doesn't matter that I have a space between TITLE and (YEAR) part? I was thinking adding a year would make it easier for XBMC to pick up stuff from themoviedb.

i use the following format..

Title [Year Format]

ex : Independence Day [1996 BluRay]

Seems to pick up all names fine.

Are you using 'Use folder name for lookups'?

I have mine as 'title (year)' and it works about 98%. I recommend emberMM which will mass rename all your folders/movies and also help you manage your movie nfo files.
