Digital Audio out over S/PDIF on Acer Revo 3600
#1
Hi Guys!

I want to use my Revo 3600 as media center. It seems perfect to me for a linux system with XBMC.
The only bad thing is, i have no digital sound output like a TOSLINK. Does anybody know a solution? Is it possible under linux to use the 3,5mm earphone cinch for digital output?
I´m not shure, but i think in Windows I can put different signals on the 3,5mm outputs by the sound driver.

Would be cool to hear some of you!

iirc the 3600 doesn't support optical out, you need the 3610 which has a spdif port on it. If you need optical out get a usb soudcard that has a spdif port on it. You can pick them up for about £15/$20.
