Look what Acer and Asus has coming next year.

Looks like the perfect box to drop XBMC or a DYI Boxee box. What do you guys think?

Quote:At IDF 2010, we spotted a pair of new Intel CE4100 set-top boxes from ASUS and Acer respectively

That means it uses an Intel GPU.

No thank you!

Look nice, will be a while until they are available and currently (afaik) there is now support for their hardware decoders and its unclear to me how open their api is. Likewise intels linux support for their current lineup is pretty poor to say the least which is my preferred platform for xbmc. Still time will tell.

Personally I've just ordered one of these, as i fancy having a play with something ion2 based in it, and its got a bluray drive in it which will be nice for ripping.

There are quite a few retailers in the UK taking preorders for them - just google ID33. I got mine from play.com they have them for £330, although I have paid less than that as I know someone who works there.

Also confirmed it is very likely they will be shipping out before Sept 20th.
