No Wifi with XBMC autobooting
#1
I am new to Ubuntu and XBMC, and I have it configured for XBMC to autostart when I turn on my box. The problem I have is that it now does not start my wifi drivers so 1) My wifi remote doesn't work anymore and 2) I can not scan new content and scrape the artwork.

Is there a way inside XBMC to initiate my wifi? The other issue that I have is that I can not quit out of XBMC back to the linux desktop to disable the auto bootup of XBMC. If I select restart, it just restarts XBMC, and if I select shutdown, it shuts down the box. I have scoured the internet to find some way to prevent programs from autostarting but to no avail. Can anyone give me some pointers? Thanks!

You need to specify who you have installed it and how you autostart it.
If you are using the xbmc sesssion in gdm (xbmc-standalone) the wifi is indeed started.

You just have to make sure that the wifi connection and authentication is available for all users all the time with no dialog for the key-ring or anything else.
