overscan issue (??) - if anyone can help!!
#1
Hi there,

I see a strange thing with overscan. At the first glance it looks all just fine on the screen:

Image

As you can see that nothing is off the screen. But if I take a PrintScreen, I actually get this:

Image

Note that black border/frame around the view area. Which may indicates that the actual screen is a bit bigger that what I can see on the display. Which is not problem for most of the cases, but it's gets really annoyed when I pull out menu during video playback, I see this:

top of the screen actually off the display. It's not that I can use the menu at all, but I trying to understand why I'm seeing this. Does anyone see this as well? Anyone one know how to fix this? This is my xorg.conf , if that's worth checking.

It doesn't really make any difference if 1920x1080 is used or 1280x720 - I get exactly the same thing. Is there anything I'm missing in the XBMC video settings or the problem is rather fundamental? Cheers!!

You need to calibrate the screen once while in playback mode.

Playback is using another resolution (+hz) most likely.

Do you find that you have to adjust OSD calibration for movies and for TV episodes and when you adjust one the other is out the door?

E.g Adjust on Tv episodes save settings for all files then change content type and on new playback OSD is off again?

I found that fixing one breaks the other so why is it that the OSD doesnt follow the GUI calibration since IT should.

I have reported this as a bug http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/10226 please reply to it if you have to adjust your OSD for every different file.
