I have several situations where the playback is really scatty

XBMC.log http://pastebin.com/h1c7jGZV
Media info http://pastebin.com/eVh3DK2S

Looking in the log there are cpullup errors and audio packets skipped or duplicatedCPU is at 49% and no significant dropped frame come on the OSD

I also noticed some errors with the AC3 audio (although the decoder Dolby Digital Light stays on)

Crystal HD Driver 3.6

I suggest turning off the fancy sync playback settings.

If I take the sync audio video flag it starts with lip sync issues and becomes unwatchable

Not seeing any issue under bcm70012 or bcm70015. audio and video stay in sync for analog out. Can't test AC3 passthough as I don't have a compatible receiver and don't get enough in crystalhd donations to get one.

"If I take the sync audio video flag", that's not what xbmc.log says Smile

DEBUG: CDVDPlayerAudio:: synctype set to 1: skip/duplicate

"Sync Playback to display" is on.
A/V Sync Method:
There are three settings, "video clock (resample audio)", "video clock (drop/dupe audio)" and "Audio Clock". You are set to "video clock (drop/dupe audio)" which will cause audio drop/duplicate to stay in sync.

Turn "Sync Playback to display" off and retest using the sample please.

This is the log no skips but cpull up errors

"DEBUG: CDVDPlayerAudio:: synctype set to 0: clock feedback"

This is the normal with none of the fancy audio/video sync methods.

"DEBUG: CPullupCorrection:" is NOT an error. Ignore it.

"WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(video)::Get - asked for new data packet, with nothing available" This means vq is drained and there's nothing to feed video decoder. Could indicate a problem, would need to see what a/v and framedrop in Codec OSD show and also dmesg .

Well I can tell you in the GUI the Sync Audio Video is set to off so XBMC must have its own life??
I just double checked with Sync Video/Audio set to off I see the following in the log
11:23:37 T:53006336 M: 2801664 DEBUG: CDVDPlayerAudio:: synctype set to 0: clock feedback

That would explain why with the Sync Video/Audio set to off the playback is more jittery XBMC is actually synchronizing using the audio clock regardless

Should I open a ticket in Trac?

Let's start again. What exactly is the problem here ?

Scatty play back at times like the frames are coming with pauses
So no fluidity like the framerate was not constant
To be frank that also happens without loosing frames
