RSS Video Feed Crashes XBMC
#1
Have tried this on two computers and on both the stable and beta2 of XBMC

I have done:

Videos - Add Source - and added the URL of: rss://http://feeds2.feedburner.com/WeeklyMarinePodcast-hd ; giving it a name etc

It read the RSS feed and gives me a list of "episodes" but upon playing them XBMC just freezes

This works perfectly in Boxee; in XBMC it freezes for around a minute

please enable debug logging in system settings and try again. please, no inlining in the forums, it makes for crappy searches later...

after about 10minutes of XBMC displaying (not responding) in the window it returned control back. At this point the log file grew by another 10kb

so in summary, I start the video playing

this log file is created and XBMC freezes

about 10 minutes later XBMC becomes responsive again, I dont see an error message and log file increases by about 10kb

right. problem seems to be that the http stream is unseekable. in fact i can't stream it properly using mplayer either. i find it a bit weird that it works in boxee.

Im getting the same issue as this, tried with both stable and Dharma beta2.

The Stable release allows you to cancel but it never loads. Dharma attempts to load, never does and gives back control after around a minute.

Here is my log file.

I started with, adding the RSS feed, and accessing a video.
Enabled Debugging, accessed a video.
With debugging enabled, access the same video from a hard drive.

Spiff, what do you mean by "unseekable"?

What does unseekable mean exactly; in the log file we can see it trying to access http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/WeeklyMar..._voice.mov which, if clicked is a valid link

In quick time I can click file - open URL and paste this URL in

I will have a dig around and see if I can figure out how Boxee accesses this as it works really well
