Newznab - Anyone using it?
Any windows users got any tips on running the two update bat files? I've tried task scheduler-ing them but they never seem to run correctly (I never get new releases but I do if I run them manually).

Does newsnab plus work with Couchpotato and Sickbeard? I run these apps on a Synology NAS. I can't figure out how to get Spotweb installed on it.

Now that nzbmatrix is gone I've no index provider for these apps.

Anyone able to have more than one group activated?
When I add a second group and update the binaries I get an error:
could not select group (bad name?)
The group was one that was already in the default list.

If I activate more than 1 group i just get it constantly repairing. Think I may go for the paid version as others have said these problems then go.

For those that are having issues setting up thier own newznab installs you could try http://www.nzbzombie.com/

If you want to kill usenet, this is the way. Everybody running it's own indexing server.
Yeah ISP's are gonna love this.

There are still enough sites out there... and a lot of new ones coming in the near future...

Before NZBs, millions of people were downloading millions of headers and scrolling through them manually to find what they wanted... i used to...

A home indexing server going through 10 groups is not even close to the bandwidth used by people streaming Gangnam Style on Youtube...

If I get a chance later I will test CP.

EDIT: just tested with Couch Potato and it sent the first film I tried to SAB without any problems.

hmm, still didn't work for me. did you use xampp? are you using the free or paid version of newznab?

To me it looks like you are using the wrong url. From you first post about this issue you had http://localhost/newznab/www which is incorrect. just try http://localhost. Or try to hit the site in a browser from another compter or phone. Thats the same URL you will need in CP/SB/Headphones along with the API from newznab.

I tested mine by adding a movie to CP that I saw in my indexed movies list. It started right away.

The difference is I am using CP/SB on my unraid server and running newznab on an old PC with ubuntu 12.10 minimal. I assume you are running all yours from the same box since you are using http://localhost

I hope that helps.

Got it! had to replace localhost with the computer name. So host name for CP and SB ended up being computername/newznab/www/ Thanks for the help guys!

I just donated to the newznab team to obtain newznab+. However the link to the upgraded version in the email: svn.newznab.com/nn/branches/nnplus is dead. Can anyone provide me with a link to the upgraded files or means through which I can obtain them? Thanks

I did the same earlier but haven't downloaded yet. Looks like you need to download and use tortoisesvn.

Installed tortoisesvn and tried the url using it. No luck unless I'm doing something wrong.

The guys that developed Newznab are rolling around naked in a pile of money.

Got tortoisesvn to work and used passwords provided to access files with no problems.
