[WINDOWS] AC3/DTS over SPDIF working, MPEG3 NOT
#1

Hi All,

I'm running Dharma beta2, I've managed to get everything working so far, files with AC3/DTS audio output great to my decoder (DTT3500) its set to output over SPDIF (From the onboard SoundMax) with AC3 capable only set.

The last massive problem I'm having is MPEG 3 audio does not work, so music videos, SD films, MP3s all don't work.

When I play AC3/DTS I can see the optical SPDIF is outputting as it lights up, however when playing MPEG 3 audio, its not lit. It only outputs over the analogue outputs.

How can I get it to output over SPDIF also? Do I need to use any extra software to re-encode the output?

What should XBMC be doing in this case?

I really don't want to have to use an analogue cable also, as it means switching the decoder over for different media types. FYI My decoder works fine with two channel audio from my TV over optical (2ch PCM from freeview?)

I've also tried a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio, but I can't get that working at all.

OS Is Windows 2003 Server

Regards

Nick
