Weird rendering in Ubuntu 8.04
#1
Hi

I am running XBMC on an rather old Ubuntu 8.04 computer. But the rendering gets a bit weird in XBMC (see below). If I use ffplay it looks good.

I have tried both the version in the PPA and compiled xbmc and the ffmpeg library myself, both with and without --enable-external-libraries (which required me to change the final build step that added -lavcodec and -lavutil in the wrong order).

My architecture is i686.

Videoformat: mpeg4
Videocontainer: avi
Audioformat: mp3

Screenshot: http://yfrog.com/5zxbmcfp
My xbmc.log: http://pastebin.com/pkUH0nTE

Upgrading Ubunut is unfortunately not an options as ATI has stopped developing the drivers for my graphics card, so I can't get TV-out in newer versions of X.

hi finrist,

If I remenber correctly, xbmc 9.10 had problems with ATI and GS Shaders.
I think Basic Shaders work.
Also the new xbmc 10.00 beta solve this problem.

Well, you remembered correctly. It worked! (both software and basic shaders) =)

Thanks!
