Last.fm - crash on setting username and password
#1
Hi there!

I keep getting crashes when I enable the last.fm scrobbler and insert the username and password. A soon as I leave the menu I see a black screen with a little white cross - I presume this is a crash since the skin refreshes to the main menu after a while, and it hasn't saved the changes. Even when I manually enter the information in guisettings.xml it's just reset to default after a reboot.

xbmclog.old (to be sure): http://pastebin.com/7x8WXxsr

Is there anyone who at least knows what I could do to troubleshoot this...?

can't manually insert cause we hash the password for some minimum "security". i wonder if it's trying to login sync or something and that freezes the app thread..

Is there a way I could see if that is the problem? Or anything else I can do to troubleshoot this?

depends on your skill level. attaching gdb, breaking the application and then looking at the backtrace is the only way to get useful info.

My skill level concerning what? My skill level is...flexible Smile If you could give me some pointers on how to provide you with some usefull info, it would be very helpfull.

I'm very dedicated to making Last.fm work again, I use it a lot, but as I cannot login now, I can't listen to any of my playlist or loved tracks, let alone scrobble.

Interesting. I run the latest beta, But I have been having this issue for some time now (since the first dharma svn's I think).

I thought this wasn't the right place to post it so I continued the discussion here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=82582

Maybe you can work with those comments? I'm 'not skilled enough'...Wink
