Hi there,

Great Smile First step is to do the translation (language/English/strings.xml). Once done, you can post your strings.xml files up on trac and we'll get it in. There may be some work needed on the default fallback font - I'm not sure it includes everything needed for Indian languages.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Unfortunately, current default fallback font don't include none of the script you list. http://trac.xbmc.org/attachment/ticket/6...gcover.txt You may need to find GPL or GPL-like fonts that support the languages. XBMC fallback font mostly come from DroidSansFallback in adroid. If google add support for indian languages, it can be done easily.

Thanks Jmarshall and kimp93 for your replies. There are indic fonts availble under GPL license for these languages. here are some quick links

https://fedorahosted.org/lohit/

can we use any of the fonts listed above.?

someone developed the indic language support in DroidSansFallback.. but i am afraid its not accurately rendering though...

Current xbmc fallback font was developed by s7mx1. take a look at following ticket. http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/6397
You may ask s7mx1 to include indic fonts to xbmc fallback font by providing fonts information to the ticket.
