Thats wierd... Yeah i think it should just connect. Have you tried using your windows user and pass when manually adding the smb://VISTA-PC/Movies

i havnt got a username and password mate thats the thing?
the is the setup..
Modem -----> Router
[Wired]
Router -----> PC (vista)
Router -----> XBOX 360
Router -----> Revo R3610
[Wireless]
Router -----> Laptop (vista)
The router has a username and password for wireless, never known it to ask for username and password for wired..

hi mate, its now connected on the right hand side pop out menu thing..
it went into:
Workgroup.. which had:
- Laptop
- Vista-PC
i clicked Vista-PC.. which had:
- Movies
- Music
- Pictures
- Software
- Documents
i clicked Movies.. which asked me for a password?

hi guys, i finally got it too work, i had to create a new username and password on the computer (so the wiki said)
i added:
username: xbmcu
password: xbmcp
and it connected up straight away and started to stream my films!
now the next step, how do i go about adding all the fancy album art and stuff?

Another annoyed user of XBMC, i have the same problem.
Did anyone test this USB installer before release?
I'm not fortunate enough to have an external USB CD ROM lying around to complete this installation process, hence my opting for the USB installation route.
Sat here now with a non working Acer Revo.
I wish i had stuck with the old version of XBMC.
How the hell am i going to install the new version of XBMC if i don't have a CD ROM connected to my Acer Revo.
