Hi,

I followed the installation guide for XBMC on Ubuntu 9.04 guide (fresh install). But I'm unable to get any sound working in XBMC. I'm using SPDIF connection, but I also tried to connect the Asrock using the analog audio out. But still no sound.

However, when the computer boots, I hear the "ping" sound, so I guess the soundcard is still working...

Anyone have an idea on how I can move forward?

Probably need to run alsamixer.

If you don't need the full desktop try the live cd.

What does it say in the sound settings in xbmc?
