The test PC is a i7 with a HD5870 (Linux ATI drivers are pants too BTW) which im using to test weather the time is right to go to 10.10 and Dharma... before i operate on the ION....

verified same problem here....
Use mythicalLibrarian to make a library out of your MythTV files. Leave the recording to MythTV and use XBMC as your library.

as a note, this creates alot of errors in the aptitude packaging system...

you will have to
Code:
apt-get -f install
in order to do updates or install any other software. But once you've done your software install, just reinstall the xbmc-live package as above.

outleradam: PLEASE stop recommending that users blindly fetch and install packages. XBMC does not work with policykit-1. That's why we haven't packaged yet it. You can expect that your solution will install, but policykit will not work, and system deps will be screwed.

As I've said in several places, when XBMC works on Maverick (soon), there will be a package for it.

Hey, whatever. I ran into this thread while searching for a solution for myself. I'm running XBMC on Maverick. I told him what worked on my computer. It kept my family from being dead in the water. My XBMC live computer boots right up and runs.

It's not a repair, it's not a solution, it's a fix, and clearly labeled as such.
