Dharma 3 not starting up
#1
I just installed Dharma Beta 3 and I am getting the following message when I attempt to run XBMC.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times now and got the same error.

XBMC: Error

CApplication::Create() failed - check log file and that it is writable.

Below is the log file when I launched XBMC.

That's not the complete log file and the important info is missing. Please *don't* post the complete log file here. Upload it to pastebin.com and post the link here.

I would guess you are running XBMC in portable mode on Windows Vista or 7 and you have user access control enabled. This protects C:\Program Files\XBMC so XBMC cannot write to it. The fix is to run XBMC in default mode or (not advised) to turn UAC off.

I've the same error, but only when I'm trying to start XBMC as Windows shell. When started normally, it works fine. Graphic drivers are updated, latest nightly build installed. Tried on two different XP machines, same results.
