Hello

I have a Asrock 330HT.
Ubuntu 10.04 desktop installed, x86_64
XBMC dharma beta 3
nvidia drivers: 195.36.24

I followed this nice guide

And i managed to get audio from HDMI in ubuntu system.
BUT in XBMC player, I hear only clink sound (moving curson in menu)

when I try to play a movie I get:
"Failed to initialize Audio Device"

Only first time I followed the guide, i managed to hear xbmc movie audio.
After the second reboot, i get the same error...

I've only ever got it satisfactory on live installs. anyway what i did:

1) install nvidia 260 drivers
2) unmute in alsamixer
3) run the following two lines:

sudo wget http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=f5f9654bb -O /etc/asound.conf
sudo wget http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=f2e38265 -O /usr/share/alsa/cards/HDA-Intel.conf

4) set both audio outputs to "hw:0,3" in xbmc
5) reboot

and it's perfecto!

Thanks a lot, I tryed.
Same behaviour.
When i hear menu clicks I do not hear from movie, and vice versa.
I discovered, from CTRL ALT F1 console, that in some situation i have pulseaudio running.
If I kill it, audio is working from movie, correctly, but I loose menu cliks.
I'm planning to reinstall the system using a live platform, but at this point I can wait for darma live final version...
For the moment I completely uninstall pulseaudio.
apt-get remove pulseaudio

So I have no random behaviour .
No audio from menu cliks, but audio from movie...

When I set the "audio output device" and "passthrough audio device" to "pulse" (no quotes) everything seems to work perfectly! (you may have to select Custom, and manually enter "pulse").

This seem to work for both XBMC and Boxee (Before they both had different audio problems).

[EDIT]Now my Flash (Youtube) sound isn't working when Boxee (haven't tried XBMC) is running. Anybody got a fix for this?[/EDIT]
