I think i just messed my sound system up.

I can playback bluray movies without problem sound working perfect.
and even .vob files

But avi and youtube and stuff like that is just not working :-( i dont know why....... it was working fine sometime back... but after i tried to upgrade to alsa it did not work i believe.. but then i reinstall alsa and it successfully installed everything fine.
but i keep getting the error message : Failed to initialize audio device, check your audio settings.

I use optical and 5.1 all 3 points enabled and passthrough audio set to iec958
i tried every possible setting nothing works.

Please if anyone had any similar issue, feedback.

Fixed it

For those with same problem.....

I had to set "audio output device" to custom in audio setting in xbmc
And custom audio device set to the default "plug:both"
