I have read many posts and have believe I have 7.1 lpcm working although I currently lack the hardware to test it. My stereo TV currently receives passthrough dolby digital no problem. My question has mainly to do with how HD audio is handled. When I play a TrueHD movie it also passes through just fine. My question is should the TrueHD be passed through because when I get my new receiver I want it converted to 7.1 lpcm and if it was being converted I don't think my TV should be able to play it. Also when TrueHD is passing through is it down converted to regular dolby digital.
So basically I'm asking should i pass through on not when I buy my 7.1 sound system? Also could someone please explain the need for Analog vs Digital settings if passthrough is disabled because they both send it hdmi no problem.
