Hello all here!
first of all, thanx for your wonderful work!!
I've a late2006 mac mini with the crystalHD, driver 3.6, dharma beta3.
this configuration works great of course with sd files, nice (some frames drops) with 1080 movies, terrible with 720 files.
with these sources my only possibilities is to disable the crystalhd supportm so my first question is:
is it possible to have an option where I enable or disable the crystalHD separately for 1080 and 720 movies? it would be really useful!

Second question: with my set is OSX the best option? if instead I would install windows or linux (really, I dont know if it is possible and totally supported) would I have some improvement playing HD movies?

the best thing would be to work the problem and figure out why you are having problems with 720p files. I repeat my mantra, mediainfo, dmesg and xbmc.log.

more or less the problem is the same that I wrote on these pages time ago, just now almost every 720 movie aren't played correctly.

for sure, solving this problem would be great... but also avoiding the issue with the possibility to disable the crystal support for 720 files would be a raw but working solution.

Not really, I'm against filling the GUI with a multitude of options that just confuse new/existing users.

I'd rather work the problem of why and fix it. There are known issues with beta4 that are not caused by CrystalHD. These are getting tracked down.

Yes I agree that solve the problem would be the best, but considering that 720 movies are well played by the computer without the help of the crystal, this option could be a quick escape to save time :-)
