Sample works just fine on my setup. Are you trying to play NTSC on PAL setup? Other than that it has to be something with your two setups specifically.

Hi D-tyme,

nope - I have a PAL setup and the sample file is from sky europe (PAL). Did you tried it on a mac mini 2010?

Yep, 2010 Mini on a NTSC setup.

Hmm ... I checked my setup twice. I'm using the standard settings from xbmc. I only set the language to german.

I've switched to NTSC and tested it again with VDA decoder on and my posted testfile -> jerky picture and crash when trieing to stop the movie.

Does a log help?

I've updated my mac mini to 10.6.6 and XBMC to 10.1 but the problem still exists.

I've tried Plex instead (No - I don't want to switch to Plex!) and discover the same problem. With hardware decoding turned on XMBC is producing a distorted colorish screen and I can hear the sound while Plex doesn't show anything and hangs.

When I try to stop my sample file (some posts above) in XMBC, XMBC hangs.

Any help?

Hi Davilla,

you can find my debug log here: http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=VjeYZ6Lj

What have I done:

Started XBMC
Navigated to the folder "dm800"
Started playback of the file "#9"
Got my usual problems.
Navigated to the OSD and tried to stop the playback -> XBMC hangs
Had to switch to finder and force quit of XBMC

Thank you

When it hangs, open the terminal app, find the pid of xbmc (ps aux), the "kill -6 <pid>", that will force a crashreporter log. Then pastebin it and we can see where it's hanging.
