Hi, I have a big problem. I treid some Howtows and Tips in this Forum, but nothing was useful for me.
I want to bring up the Microsoft Xbox360 universal remote under ubuntu (yavdr) and also under xbmc to run
I have as ir receiver: PHILLIPS MCE IR Reciver Spinel plus
and the xbox360 universal remote (was in the packet with the HDdvd)

My Question is:
Is this possible with this receiver ? (before i spend too much time in it)
If the answer Yes, can some one give me a tip or howto please ?
I have no more idears for it.

Phillips is an IR receiver for a IR remote

xbox 360 is an RF Game Pad.

you can buy the usb dongle for the xbox 360 for about $25 there abouts.

I think he is talking about the xbox 360 media center remote. Not the game pad.
The 360 remote is IR and should work with the IR receiver.

So:
IR receiver should work, yes.
Xbox 360 remote should also work.

I don't have any info on a how to yet. I'm currently trying to get my xbox 360 remote setup with live. It looks like there needs to be some config files.
Hardware.conf and lircd.conf

There is some config files in this post to give you an idea. Like I said I'm just starting to try to figure this out for myself right now. I'm still very new to Linux.
