Its a bit complicated, but here goes.
I have a script (actually, many, but I'll get there) on my main HTPC which executes another script on another Ubuntu Desktop machine, and then sleeps for some time. The Ubuntu Desktop script is a series of xdotools commands which opens chrome, and signs into a sport streaming service here in SA (totally legit, I have an account), and then sets up OBS (Open Broadcast Software) and starts the stream, which is sent to an NGINX server running on my main HTPC. The initial script then completes its sleep, and sends a Player.Open json command to kodi, which starts to play my selected stream in full screen, with sound, and allows me to control the stream via the Kodi remote on my phone. Yay me!
When I use Advanced Launcher to launch the bash script, i get the aforementioned silly message, and what kills the experience altogether is that it doesn't go away, so even as the Rugby is on in the background, I see the box saying that its "Opening Stream" and then when I click on cancel, it starts the process of cancelling, which takes about a minute. I have no idea what its trying to open. The stream continues to play after the message goes away.
Lastly, when I stop the stream, another script it triggered when I press the stop button which closes the stream on the Ubuntu desktop. I used a service plugin to achieve this, cant remember the name offhand. Will be happy to find it if anybody is interested.
So I guess im not sure why I went into this kind of detail, possibly because I am really proud of my idea to get my desired "desktop" stream into kodi. But if there is anybody out there who could help me with my issue, that would be swell.
