Will 160 Pico be enough ?

I am still not happy with the noise coming from the power supply on my Apex MI-008 with i3/H55N-USB3/Vertex 2 SSD.

I raided my D945GLCF unit and took out the PICO 90W DC-DC power supply and connected it to the Apex.

It ran fine for 5 minutes, showing "Crank 2". It rebooted once.

Now it has been running for 15 minutes without a hitch.

I have put in my ECS NGT430C graphics card, and now it is starting to reboot repeatedly.

Question: Would a 160W Pico DC-DC supply work in this situation ? If you do think that 160W would be enough, what if I were to slot in a 1GB WD Green ?

Thanks.

I have a 160w PICOPSU that I use with my ION system with an added GPU. I think it would certainly provide enough overhead for the GPU, and probably enough for the green drive. Green drives sip power once booted, the only problem is getting past the initial spinup. Let me do a little math and get back to you.

One thing I HAVE TO ask: since you are considering changed the PSU for noise factors, what CPU heat sink are you using? With a PICOPSU you could fit a HSF in with a 120mm fan, and then that would be more quiet too...
