Integrated video question
#1
My mobo died on my xbmc. I went out and picked up a new board that had HDMI out on it. Its an Asus P5G41C-M and it looks like it has Intel GMA X4500 integrated video. In the old machine i was using an old nVidia 8500 GT card for output. If i just use the integrated with HDMI out instead of the add-on card am i going to notice any degradation of video quality?

Well depending on the operating system, you might not get any working hardware video decoding and/or get hit by driver bugs.

But, if everything works ok, video quality should be identical.

With Win7 it should work see here:

I haven't gotten around to trying the latest Dharma on my DG45FC (x4500HD GPU).

On Windows.

On Linux the Intel driver doesn't allow for hardware color correction or proper 24p support, so the quality of playback is inferior to Nvidia offerings.
