Size of SSD to buy as a boot drive?

Hello all,

I want to setup a linux box for use with XBMC but I would also like the functionality of a a web browser and torrent client and perhaps a mythtv backend in the future.

I want to use an SSD as the boot disk to hold XBMC and the other apps and then use a platter drive for storing all the media on.

I noticed that Kingston makes an 8 gig SSD that is pretty cheap.

Is this enough space or should I opt for the 16 GB model:

If you forget MythTV than I think either the 8GB or the 16gb model is enough for Linux. If you really want MythTV in the future (and want to have live TV buffer off the OS drive as expected) stick to a 32GB model. Here is one that after rebates that is the same price as the 16gb you are looking at:
