Multiple version in Matroska
#1
Hello,

I've download a MKV that contains 2 versions of the content (different endings). With mkvinfo, I can see that it has two EditionEntry elements, one that goes from that start until about 2/3 of the release, and another that goes from that start to the end, but skipping the middle third. Below it's the mkvinfo output:

|+ Chapters
| + EditionEntry
| + EditionFlagOrdered: 1
| + EditionFlagHidden: 0
| + EditionFlagDefault: 0
| + EditionUID: 49188482
| + ChapterAtom
| + ChapterUID: 89928363
| + ChapterFlagHidden: 1
| + ChapterFlagEnabled: 1
| + ChapterTimeStart: 00:00:00.000000000
| + ChapterTimeEnd: 01:44:04.348000000
| + ChapterDisplay
| + ChapterString: DC
| + ChapterLanguage: eng
| + EditionEntry
| + EditionFlagOrdered: 1
| + EditionFlagHidden: 0
| + EditionFlagDefault: 0
| + EditionUID: 49188483
| + ChapterAtom
| + ChapterUID: 3143058000
| + ChapterFlagHidden: 1
| + ChapterFlagEnabled: 1
| + ChapterTimeStart: 00:00:00.000000000
| + ChapterTimeEnd: 01:02:15.354000000
| + ChapterDisplay
| + ChapterString: TC1
| + ChapterLanguage: eng
| + ChapterAtom
| + ChapterUID: 3143058001
| + ChapterFlagHidden: 1
| + ChapterFlagEnabled: 1
| + ChapterTimeStart: 01:44:04.349000000
| + ChapterTimeEnd: 02:22:53.350000000
| + ChapterDisplay
| + ChapterString: TC2
| + ChapterLanguage: eng

When I play it with XBMC, it ignores the Edition Entry, and plays the full first version, and when it end, continues playing the second half of the second version.

My question is: is XBMC able to handle mkv with different version? If so, hw would I be able to choose between the versions?

Thanks for all the community,

I think I recently saw a post asking about this, and I think the answer was "not yet". It might be worth searching the forum for that earlier post.
