Firefox installation doen'st work help please
#1
Hello everybody,

I have read a lot of post saying that firefox installation has worked.

I can not install it on my XBMC Live Dharma RC1.

apt-get always get the error:
firefox: Depends: libstartup-notification0 (>=0.10) but it si not installable

I already had try to install it using aptitude and the option --without-depends but the error is similar.

How do all here archived to install it? Can somebody help me please.

Hello

do nobody else have this problem ? or a solution to fix this

I already have read tones of post about firefox working but I can find a way to do this on my HTPC

already have reinstalled the system today to make sure to have a fresh installation, but the error is the same.

That's the only thing missing to make it perfect.

Thanx for help

What type of installation? Xbmc live? What version? I think you have somethings wrong in repositories.
You can install packages step by step and try, but its hard because one package may deppend on another. >look here<

Take a look in /etc/apt/sources.list files and look for something bad. You can show us this list.

Hi

the installation is the last xbmc live dharma RC1 iso file downloaded from xbmc.org.

Iso file was copied on usb stick and installed.

I can update and search the repositories. I also get firefox package listed.
the file /etc/apt/sources.list is empty.
I can not tell if this is normal or not in a xbmc live installation.

Any Idea ?
